18. alþjóðráðstefnan verður í Melbourne í Ástralíu.
Val Corva, sem er er skipulagsstjóri ráðstefnunnar hefur sent okkur þetta bréf þar sem hún fyrir hönd undirbúningsnefndar og allra IW félaga í Ástralíu býður til hennar. Hún segist vera fædd í Melbourne og stolt af sínum bæ sem var stofnaður 1835. Fyrsta þingið í Ástralíu var haldið þar 1901. Það er litið á Ástralíu sem ungt land en þar er að finna elstu samfelldu menningu á jörðinni í 60.000 ár. Melbourne er sérstök borg. Hún hvetur okkur til að taka okkur tíma til að skoða hana og kanna falda fjársjóði. Einnig hvetur hún til þess að koma fyrr og taka IW félagar í Ástralíu á móti okkur í allt að þrjá daga á undan eða á eftir í heimagistingu.
Ástralía er stórt land. Gefðu þér tíma ef þú getur. Búið er að skipulega ferðir fyrir og eftir ráðstefnuna. IIW ráðstefna er frábært tækifæri til að ferðast til annarra landa og auka og efla alþjóðlegan skilning, deila hugmyndum og fá hugmyndir og skapa Bjartari framtíð fyrir þá sem hafa það ekki eins gott. Hún vonar að við ákveðum að koma á ráðstefnuna sem verður 11.-14. apríl 2018.
Ráðstefnan verður betri ef ÞÚ kemur líka segir hún.
Við vitum að ferð hinum megin á hnöttinn er löng, en hún segir að þær vinni hörðum höndum við að gera þessa ferð eins ánægjulega og skemmtilega og hægt er, bæði hvað varðar menningu, upplifun, vináttu, gleði og líka eitthvað óvænt..
Síðasti skráningardagur fyrir hækkun ráðstefnugjalds er 10. október 2017. Skárningu lýkur 1. mars 2018.
